We are transitioning from one fiscal year to another.
The Fourteenth and DCBA year-end is June 30. A new fiscal year starts next week, and with it will come your new year dues invoices for both the Fourteenth and DCBA. Watch for this important piece of US Mail the week of July 11. You will have 90 days to pay.
There are 65 individuals who remain unpaid for the current year and will receive a two-year invoice. Anyone remaining unpaid after August 1 will be presented to the State Bar for further action.
We also want to update you on important modernization efforts within the Bar office.
We are now a virtual office. This means that the office previously located at 115 E. Main Street is now closed. Our mailing address remains the same: PO Box 593, Durham, NC 27702.
As your Executive Director, Bonnie Biggs will still be available to members and vendors via phone, email and text at 919-682-2012, during normal business hours which run 8:30 – 3:30 Monday to Friday. In addition, to have great opportunities for face time with those of you who have questions or want to pay dues in person, she will be holding “open office hours” in the Attorneys Lounge, Room #3600 in the Durham County Judicial Building, from 9:00 to 1:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This will start the week of July 10-13. After a one week gap, those hours will be consistent starting July 31.
In other news: THIS web site is in development! Watch for improvements by the moment. Keep an eye out for further instructions about the new payment portal. A Communications Committee is also being convened to support our social media efforts. If you have special expertise in this area please let us know!
There are NEW VENUES for both DCBA and Fourteenth events this coming year.
A full list will be published shortly, but anticipate voluntary bar luncheons at such places as Parizade, the University Club, The Pit, and also, of course, the Durham Convention Center plus several more new venues. The Picnic, ballpark lunch at Tobacco Road Sports Cafe, and Annual Meeting will remain the same.
