BarCARES is a confidential, short-term intervention program provided cost-free to members of participating judicial district bars, voluntary bar associations and law schools. The Sixteenth JDB and Durham County Bar Association participate in this program.
Confidential Counseling for the Legal Community and their Families
Through services rendered by HRC Behavioral Health & Psychiatry, P.A. and their subcontractors across the state, BarCARES is designed to offer no-cost assistance in dealing with problems that might be causing distress and can be used to help with personal issues (crisis intervention, depression/anxiety, substance use and financial concerns); family issues (marriage/relationships, children/adolescents and parenting/family conflict); work issues (professional stressors, case-related stress and conflict resolution); and student coaching on stress/time management, etc.
The Sixteenth Judicial District Bar BarCARES initiative provides three sessions of the above-referenced services to any JD 14 member, free of charge and with complete confidentiality. The Sixteenth is NOT provided with names of those using this service, nor is your personal insurance charged.
Durham County Bar Association members may share their three visits with their immediate family members, and may also “donate” their visits to a known or unknown individual who needs more than the provided three sessions. Click over to the DCBA web page for more benefits of becoming a DCBA member.
