About this event

Speaker:

Appointed to the Alamance County District Court bench by Governor Roy Cooper in March 2024, Judge Bryan Norris is an Alamance County native and Eagle Scout who has always sought to dedicate himself to public service. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and law degree from the University of North Carolina, Judge Norris started his legal career at Wishart, Norris, Henninger, and Pittman in his hometown of Burlington, advocating in court for individuals, businesses, and non-profits.

Transitioning to public service, Judge Norris spent the next six years clerking at our state’s appellate courts, first at the North Carolina Court of Appeals and then at the North Carolina Supreme Court. Recognized for his professionalism and dedication to justice, he received the North Carolina Bar Association’s Robinson O. Everett Professionalism Award and led a significant statewide food drive.

Judge Norris comes to us today as the head of the BarCARES speakers’ group, supporting mental health for legal professionals and their families and it is in this context that we will hear from him today about mental health issues and management, NCLAP, BARCares, and the data surrounding mental healthcare in the legal profession.

The event is open to DCBA members. That is, you may attend this event at no additional cost if you are a member of the Durham County Bar Association only ($125), or a Joint Member of the JD 16 & the DCBA ($200). Your membership classification should allow you to register for this event.
