Join us for Law Day!
The Durham Bar will join a nationwide, nonpartisan, coalition of lawyers to renew our commitment to the rule of law —making visible our collective commitment to a legal system that serves the Constitution.
Law Day will be on May 1 from 1PM - 2 PM on the front steps of the Durham County Courthouse, unless there is rain in which case we will be in courtroom 4A.
The principles of independent courts, judicial authority, due process of law, and equal protection transcend partisan divides. When court rulings are defied and judges threatened, the legal profession has a duty to act. By standing together and publicly renewing our oaths, bar associations, legal organizations, and individual attorneys send a clear and powerful message: the legal profession remains vigilant, united, and steadfast in its commitment to the Constitution and the Rule of Law.
