What is this?
1 Hour of Substance Abuse/Mental Health CLE will be delivered by our own member attorney Carena Lemons, who is
a volunteer instructor with
NC LAP
for their expanded wellness programs!
Program Description,
Getting Lost in Our Own Lives:
Lawyers suffer increasingly from depression and anxiety, impairments of their own accord, but also major contributing factors to substance abuse. This program examines some of the root causes of lawyer distress and factors that the legal profession itself and lawyers’ personalities contribute to these conditions. Based on the premise that “Work-Life Balance” is a modern day fiction, the program focuses on areas of life that lawyers can control in order to increase their happiness and emotional resilience.
About Carena Lemons:
Carena received her BA in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and obtained her JD from the North Carolina Central University School of Law. She has practiced law for over 20 years and served on various Boards including: the Greater Raleigh Chapter of NAWBO, the Durham Orange Women Attorneys, and the JD 16 Grievance Committee. She also taught for Duke University’s paralegal program and at the NCCU School of Law. Carena focuses her law practice, The Lemons Law Firm, PLLC, on employment and entertainment law. She is also an actress and host of Legally Speaking which is slated for the Fall 2022 line up on Exposure Plus TV.
