Committees

The Continuing Legal Education supports the planning and promoting of inclusive CLE programs presented by the Durham County Bar Association. The President appoints the chairperson and committee members.
Scholarship Committee
Scholarship: Evaluates candidates for any scholarship(s) presented by the Bar. The President shall appoint a chair and may appoint other members to serve on this committee.
This committee is chaired by Vice President. It is charged with examining the future of the Durham Bar organizations over the next five years. It will will make recommendations to the Joint Board of Directors, with regard to such items as staffing, technology and member benefits, and also make recommendations that may have budgetary impact.
This committee is creating a new event to raise awareness and funding for the Durham Bar Foundation, our 501(c)3 charity. Foundation funds currently support the Adam Lischer Memorial Scholarship Fund as well as local legal-adjacent public service initiatives and organizations.
Grievance Committee
The Grievance Committee operates in accordance with the Governing Rules of the North Carolina State Bar to investigate and consider grievances referred to it for investigation by the counsel of the North Carolina State Bar. The members are appointed by the President.
